The Power Point today covered the topic of the sliding filament theory of muscle contraction. This is often a difficult concept for students to learn, so it was reinforced both with a movie showing how it occurs and encouragement on our part that students need to read chapter 6 in the textbook about this topic. Worksheets from Monday's lab were due today, and we continued our exploration of cat muscle dissection, using the lab manual and list of cat muscles given to each student. Everyone made good progress with the muscles, and this will be continued on Friday. Again, it was emphasized that students try to learn these muscles as they work their way through the list.
