Today's class was devoted to the special nervous system topic if the eye. Power Point in the first half of class was followed by a short video showing LASIC surgery, looking directly at a person's eye as the surgery occurs. Most students fouond it both fascinating and a little disturbing. The sheep's eye dissection that followed was the same. Students did an excellent job, and we saw many primary and accessory structures of the eye, just as they would be in a human's eye.
Midterm exams were also returned to the students for viewing, with both the Polytech grade scale and the RVCC grade scale applied for grades. There was a wide distribution of grades, with many doing very well and a few at the lower end of the grade scale. There is no opportunity for test corrections on the midterm and final exams.
