Due to the North Hunterdon and Voorhees kids being absent from class because of their home school midterm exams, we used today as a day to supplement what we have learned and not leave the missing students behind. We showed the movie "Phenomenon," in which the main character seems to have supernatural powers from an alien contact. In reality, he had a tumor in his brain that caused a temporary increase in his cognitive powers before the terminal aspect of the tumor took hold. It is an old enough movie that none of the students had yet seen it, so it proved to be an "authentic experience."
We also referenced the Engrade calendar where current assignments are posted: a list of nervous system disorders to be defined, directions for extra credit procedures for the second marking period, and alerting students of the individual blog checks that will be done to check chapter notes that have been taken and posted.
